March is always an extremely busy month for AppAttic HQ and this year was no different as we headed off to Austin, Texas to demo our adaptive VR game, Magic Moovr, for the very first time at SXSW. Magic Moovr is an accessible mass-appeal, mobile virtual reality game that adapts to the physical ability of the player and is suitable for a wide age range.

AppAttic were selected to attend the conference by the UK DIT as one of their “Innovation is Great” companies and as an InvestNI / Digital Catapult “Immersed in Northern Ireland” company. It was a busy week with multiple demos in the Austin Convention Center, alongside private showcases and a HIMSS Austin Healthcare event. Here’s a few pics…

The VR experience has been developed through a co-creative process involving patients, neurological physiotherapists, clinicians and the general public as part of the Horizon 2020 MAGIC PCP into home-based stroke rehabilitation. It will be released on Steam and various mobile game stores later this year.

Thanks to everyone who made the trip possible and to everyone who we met. See you next year!
